Collaboration with a diverse team of researchers and artists in the initial discovery process uncovered invaluable information from diverse perspectives. We met with project stakeholders, care providers and individuals affected by dementia to conduct interviews and user testing in order to further our understanding on the subject and ensure the final product was intuitive, accessible, and educational.

Three dimensional spaces were rendered with WebGL 3D and custom shaders, creating an immersive atmosphere that relates to themes expressed in the content. A custom application using a React framework backed by a headless CMS allows educators to update content as it’s developed.

Incorporating scenes from the original production, as well as a range of audio, visual, and written content—user’s perceptions are challenged as they explore a wide range of topics related to dementia care, while offering insights into the daily lives of persons living with dementia and their families.

With the ability to create personal accounts, engagement can be tracked and referenced throughout the experience, allowing users to take in content at their own pace and feel a sense of progress. Content of interest can be saved and stored for future reference.
